5052/6061 aluminum plate performance difference

The main alloying elements in 6061 aluminum plate are magnesium and silicon, which have medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and good oxidation effect. The main alloying element of 5052 aluminum plate is magnesium, which has high strength and especially high fatigue.

6061 aluminum plate is an Al-Mg-Si alloy, medium strength, good plasticity and excellent corrosion resistance. In particular, it has a tendency to be free from stress corrosion cracking, has excellent weldability, good corrosion resistance and cold workability, and is a promising alloy with a wide range of applications. It can be anodized and colored, or it can be painted on the enamel, suitable for building decoration materials. It contains a small amount of Cu, so the strength is higher than that of 6063 aluminum plate, but the quenching sensitivity is higher than that of 6063 alloy aluminum plate. After quenching, wind quenching cannot be achieved, and re-solution treatment and quenching aging are required to obtain higher strength.

5052 aluminum plate AL-Mn alloy is the most widely used rust-proof aluminum. This alloy has high strength, especially anti-fatigue strength: high plasticity and corrosion resistance, no heat treatment strengthening, in semi-cold hardening Good plasticity, low plasticity during cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, poor machinability and polishing. Uses are mainly used for low load parts that require high plasticity and good weldability, working in liquid or gaseous media, such as automotive fuel tanks.

5052/6061 aluminum plate price difference

The price of the 6061 aluminum plate of the conventional specification is higher than the price of the 5052 aluminum plate.
